Behind the Keyboard

The relationships and dynamics in a family is a common theme in the VANISHED Universe. Found family is a particularly strong thread in the first books.

Lucas grew up in foster care, only learning about his biological family a few years before the events of Tattoo My Heart take place. While his relationship with the Abbotts remains strained, Lucas has a family – his VANISHED TATTOO family, Jax, Macy, and Logan.

Best friends since childhood, Lucas and Jax have fought for everything they’ve built together. They learned at a young age, they could only rely on each other and both take that seriously, willing to do virtually anything for each other.

They met Macy at the tattoo shop they worked at prior to Luke’s win on the reality show Top Ink. And while they haven’t known him as long, and he doesn’t share their difficult past, his loyalty is unquestioned.

Logan is the newest addition to their group. Sarcastic and suspicious, Logan fiercely protects her small circle of loved ones, and that includes her fellow artists at VANISHED.

Loving and loyal families tend to grow and the VANISHED crew is no different. Mateo (in Tattoo My Heart) and Cory (in Tattoo My Love) are two young people taken into the fold by the staff of VANISHED. Into their found family. Despite her last name, Riley Abbott is also embraced, slowly and painstakingly winning over them all over. Even Luke.
